Fantasy
My finest fantasy is
That I shall never
Return
To Bombay, India.
That the jet carrying
Me
Would disintegrate
Like yesterday’s pill
In the gastric
Juices over Delaware,
My fat
Hanging
In the bird sanctuary
Outside your window
Waiting to be pecked.
Or better still,
The pilot going blind
Crashing gently
Over the Appalachian
Mountains
Where you walked.
May be someday,
Searching for migrating
Birds
You would find some bones
The band intact
With date.
“Here’s one”, you’d
tell your friends,
“who lost his way
Looking for the warm summers
from whence he came”.

Oh George, our Dennis the Menace,
A treat to read your articles in your website. You are indeed irrepresible.
Years ago, Vineeta and I put our fantasy to reality by moving over to Pune- to a saner and calmer environment. And now I find amchi Mumbai overwhelming. The traiffic since the time we left has increased manifold, narrow lanes boast of sky piercing skyscrapers, and Dharavi has extended to Bandra reclamation and beyond.
Yet, our fondness for Mumbai remains, what with friends like you. I understand that BWRA has been transformed into an event management company ?
Regards, and hope to read more from you and of you,
Suren Kaushik

Thank God for the website
We miss you Suren and Vineeta. Gutters, garbage, noise and the desecration of everything around us in Mumbai and Pune does not prevent the the ever-greening of human people who can love and care and touch one another across the walls and distance of time. age and religion.
Visit me at my website and comment on my poems that I have finally taken out from a secret hiding place.
Nothing to lose now
George

Dear Gasper
Do you realise that thoughtful people like you are the only reason that old horses like me are motivated to keep writing. My piece in different forms found a place in most mainstream news papers
Above all millions of enlightened liberal Hindus who will not allow this beautiful country to be destroyed must hear from us
God bless you and keep in touch
